Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn has been an American actress in the film industry as well as stage since the end of the 1970s. A gifted thespian, she has been active in the professional world for the last 27 years. She started her professional career in 1990, in a non Broadway production of The Big Funk, by John Patrick Shanley. The show was later adapted to her first TV role, The Perfect Tribute. In 1992 she got her first big break by being a part of Basic Instinct as a supporting role. The Firm was the film in which she was the lead female for the first time and for the only moment. This was opposite Tom Cruise, Gene Hackman and others. In the 90s, she worked with a number of top actors from Hollywood, like Gwyneth Paltrow and Hugh Grant. She played Dr. Alex Blake on the popular international police procedural thriller Criminal Minds.
